about

Ritual Dark Ambient, Ethereal tones and somewhat lyrical amidst washes of ambient realms and whispers from those that seek answers from beyond...

The Wake of Death Album, was the first music I had created right after my Grandmother had passed away in 2008. Though it wasn't until I think very early 2009 that this mix was released, and it would be another 3 years years until my next release and performance after my mother had passed away. Their death's really hit me hard, my health was declining and my mental state was a mess (and still is), I just keep waking up each day and attempting to move forward and continue to create art, no matter the material. Though music seems to be harder for me to dive into lately.

When I look back to the most recent past with each of the individuals that have passed from my life (including my life long 17yr soul mate kitty Sassyfras back in 2013), it still upsets me. Though the music is not a reflection of looking back to me. It is not just about loss or darkness, but rather a state of flux and traversing the ether realms while looking for solace. If it weren't for music and the creation of art in many forms, I may have died many times over. Music and art has saved me more times than I can count. When all else fails, and those loves depart from your life, all that is left is art. We must create to LIVE!!! When all seems bleak.... just CREATE!!!! If you feel that you cannot create, then at the very least, surround yourself with art, with nature, with the music that speaks to your soul.

about

Dark Muse Oakland, California

Dark Muse came into being as the gutter wail of the howling banshee at the night sky, back in 2000. Prior to that, acoustic offerings were procured from the ding ding of my guitar strings in 1990. Now, I spew forth improvised sounds of Ritual Ambient whilst speaking in tongues and lay surrounded by bones in a macabre dank tomb, all the while reveling in natures lucid dark shadowy decay. ~X~ ... more
