about

The First Live Album Mix (lo-fi indeed), including the very first DM performance at Kimo's in 2001 where I crafted Nuance of a Butterfly, Backward World (one of my All Time fave ethereal vocal tracks) & Katydid. (The track that ended my 1st Perf was 'Affinity' which is on another mix). LIVE DM performances from 2001-2003.

Of Special Note:
- Trk 3 'The Giggling Tree': The bulk of this track was crafted on an odd instrument that I made out of an old metal branch with brass leaves (wall design from the 70's) that I had cupped and bent the leaves to create tones with tapped sticks & objects, guitar strings that I added across the branch to be able to play a bow across it & a mic pickup. The branch stood in a floor lamp base. (As of 2020 I still have this weird thang).
- Trk4 'Plastic Foosteps': Virtually Anything I could Mic was probably in there.

SPECIAL NOTE: Most of my work over the years was IMPROVISED, with the exception of a few lyrical tracks that I may have used early writings of & possibly some tones that may have been stuck in my head.

Dark Muse came into being as the gutter wail of the howling banshee at the night sky, back in 2000. I spew forth improvised sounds of Ritual Ambient whilst speaking in tongues and lay surrounded by bones in a macabre dank tomb, all the while reveling in natures lucid dark shadowy decay. ~X~ ... more
