Plugdose was a Very peculiar performance for me. The premise of Plugdose was to have an auditory experience where all of the audience brought their own headphones and plugged in to listen to the performance live that was right in front of them. While the performance was also being podcast live online across the world. While the concept was cool, my mood was not. I went on So much later than expected, and during my performance the next act (which had sort of cheated and nabbed two time slots with the same band rather than one (they pretended they were another group after their first performance when they were booked). Decided to start showing their Film of Boobs and odd tidbits, Right in the middle of my performance, And they started to perform their music as well, although I don't think they knew that they could not be heard till my piece was over... it was seriously SO distracting, tacky and rude. We each had an alotment of time, and they started halfway through my set, distracting me and upsetting me to no end (given I was upset to start late to begin with). The level of disrespect I felt... really (I feel) came into play in my piece, which to me is slightly muddled, frustrated, exhausted and nearly coarse at some point. I only wish I had gone a Noisier direction to startle them.... but I felt defeated by the time my piece was over. NEVER AGAIN!
